On the road to Nirvana…
The Visakha Puja is a traditional festival which is dedicated to Buddha himself, a celebration of the three phases of his life that awakens the whole of Thailand… Processions and various cortèges will process through the streets, never far from the pagodas raised in honour of his birth, awakening and ascension to Nirvana.
Buddhism is strong throughout most of South-East Asia, and so this festivity takes on a fun and convivial character. Visakha Puja is solemn during rituals and joyful the rest of the time…
