Jim Thompson's House

An American in Bangkok.

Jim Thompson was a legendary American who arrived in Thailand after the Second World War, established himself as an architect there and began to trade silk all over the world. He then disappeared in 1967, leaving no trace. All that remains of this man is what you find in the Jim Thompson House in Bangkok. This place is a veritable open air museum of Thai art and silks, and beautiful traditional Thai architecture. You will find seven traditional Thai houses in teak, a collection of Asian art gathered by the collector and a tropical garden which is a true haven of peace. Take the time to stroll around it and soak up the atmosphere. A beautiful and magical place which is a real must-see during your stay in Bangkok.

Getting there: Skytrain Chit Lom Station or Ratchadamri Station
